If you're running a WooCommerce store, you already know your theme and plugin stack works differently from Shopify's. Adding a 3D product viewer isn't just "install an app" — it needs a setup path built for WordPress. The good news: once it's connected, it works the same way for your customers, showing an interactive model right on the product page with a "View in AR" option for smartphones.

Here's the complete setup path for WooCommerce and other WordPress-based stores, from plugin install to your first live 3D product page.

Why WooCommerce Needs Its Own Setup

Shopify apps hook into a single, uniform theme system. WordPress sites don't — every store runs its own combination of theme, page builder, and cache plugin. That means a 3D/AR integration for WooCommerce needs to work as a standalone plugin that inserts itself into your product template correctly, however your specific site is built. It's a slightly different process than the Shopify path, but not a harder one.

Step 1: Install the Plugin

Install the 3D/AR visualization plugin from your WordPress dashboard and activate it. Since WooCommerce stores vary widely in setup, this step also verifies your site meets basic compatibility requirements before you go further.

Step 2: Connect Your Product Catalog

Once activated, link the plugin to your WooCommerce product catalog. This lets you choose which products get a 3D model without manually re-entering product details.

Step 3: Upload Photos and Generate the 3D Model

Upload a set of clear photos for the product you want to feature. The system processes them into a full 3D model — the more complete and well-lit the photo set, the more accurate the result.

Step 4: Embed the Viewer on Your Product Page

Once your model is ready, activate it and place the viewer on your product template. Most WooCommerce themes support this as a simple shortcode or block, so no custom PHP is required for a standard setup.

What Your Customers See

✅ An interactive 3D viewer directly on the product page

✅ A "View in AR" button for anyone on a compatible smartphone

✅ The ability to rotate and inspect the product from every angle before buying

Compatibility Notes

Most modern WooCommerce themes and page builders work without extra configuration. If your store uses a heavily customized theme or aggressive caching plugin, it's worth checking the viewer renders correctly after setup — clearing your site cache resolves the vast majority of display issues.

WordPress and WooCommerce stores don't need to settle for static product photos anymore. The setup takes a bit more configuration than a one-click Shopify install, but the result is the same interactive shopping experience — and our free plan lets you test it on your first product at no cost.
